Do you love to sing but have not learnt music theory, or perhaps you learnt an instrument for years only to still be mystified about how music actually ‘works’?

If you have been scared off theory by bad experiences or the perception that theory is “hard” and will ruin your musical instincts – it won’t! Theory is merely the analysis of successful music – music that people like! Understanding theory can only increase the musical choices available to you.

This is not a “choir” in the usual sense. Your tone and volume are not important. The voice is the instrument we all have that allows us to reproduce what our ears can hear. When you sing you are embodying musical information and, in this session, you will be doing that in a conscious way, in order to internalise the theoretical concepts. The session will involve exercises and drills as well as the learning of repertoire.
