Event Details

This workshop will explore life as an artist through storytelling, branding and making a living. Delvene will explain how artists can shift your work to take other forms, enabling you to make a living through your craft, and discuss what an income stream looks like as an artist. The course will also include a workshop component where participants have the opportunity to hand print a pair of earrings.

Delvene Cockatoo-Collins is a Quandamooka artist and designer, who lives and works on Minjerribah, (North Stradbroke Island). Delvene has a beautiful store that sells a range of screen-printed homewares, ceramics, stationery and garments that tell the story of her family and culture. In her art practice she uses materials and knowledge passed down over generations. Delvene has a long exhibition history, and has recently exhibited at the Redlands Art Gallery, The Museum of Brisbane and Side Gallery.  Her work is in private and public collections in Australia and abroad.
